WALLACETON NATIVE DIES IN JUNIATA

...Don Pedro Eckley, Spanish American war veteran and native of Wallaceton, died Saturday morning at his home in Juniata.
...Mr. Eckley who was a retired employee of the Juniata boilershop was born in Wallaceton Feb. 15, 1876. He was a son of John and Louise Eckley. In 1903 he was married to Minnie Elizabeth Watson in Wallaceton.
...He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Spanish-American war in 1898.
...He then reenlisted and was honorably discharged in 1901.
...He went to Altoona in 1905 and entered the service of the PRR. (Pennsylvania Railroad) He retired from the service because of poor health in 1938.
...Surviving him are his wife and three children; Durward, Kenneth and Mrs. Marie Burlingame. Survivng sisters and brothers are Mrs. Edward Good, Wallaceton; Mrs. Alice Simmons, Philipsburg; James W. Eckley, West Decatur and George of Hyde City.
...Funeral servicew were held this afternoon with burial in Altoona's Grandview Cemetery.
