Last Will and Testament of Frederick Fuhrman

October 21, 1823: Robeson Township, Berks County

In the name of God Amen. I Frederick Fuhrman of Robeson Township, Berks County, being of sound disposing mind and memory make this my last will and testament as follows, viz.--

I direct my Executors herein after mentioned to pay my funeral expences and lawful debts out of my estate.

Item. I give to my wife Elizabeth the full use of all the House and Kitchen furniture and the use of all Moneys and outstanding debts during her life.

Item. It is my will that my said wife remain in full possession of my planation during her life.

Item. I authorize my Executors to sell my estate real and personal after my and my wife's death by public sale and make good conveiances for the same, and divide it equally between my nine children, namely, John Fuhrman, Philip Fuhrman, Jacob Fuhrman, Daniel Fuhrman, Henry Fuhrman, Barbara intermarried to Michael Beishlein, Elisabeth intermaried to Philip Schultz, Catharine intermaried to Jacob Fuhrman and Mary intermaried to John Kachel, but in case the said Barbara should die before her husband Michael Bishlein than her share is to come to her the said Barbara's son Jacob. And I nominate and appoint my sons Henry Fuhrman and and Daniel Fuhrman to be the Executors of this my last will and Testament. Witness my hand this seventh day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three.

Berks County ss: This 21st day of October, A.D. 1823, before me Peter Aurand, Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the county of Berks, personally came Jacob Wicklein and Jacob Seifert the subscribing witnesses to the within will, and being duly sworn according to law, did depose and say that they were present together, and saw and heard, Frederick Fuhrman, the Testator, sign (by making his mark) seal, publish, pronounce and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as and for his testament and last will and that at the time of so doing he was of perfect and sound mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge, observation and belief.

Letters Testamentary in Common form under the Seal of office, were granted unto his sons Henry and Daniel Fuhrman, the executors therein named, they being first duly qualified thereto.
