1884: Reading, Berks County, PA
I Henry S. Belding of the City of Reading, County of Berks and State of Pennsylvania do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking and annulling any and all other wills by me heretofore made.
1st. I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid by my hereafter named executors as soon as conveniently may be done after my decease.
2nd, I give devise and bequeath unti my four children by my first wife now deceased-to wit- Henry C. Belding, Harriet P. Leichardt, Mary Dears and Samuel A. Belding the one half of the net proceeds of the Estate of my late brother Samuel A. Belding deceased, to which I may be entitled upon the final adjustment and settlement of his said estate, legal proceedings against the probate of his alleged last will being now pending before the Surrogate and Supreme Courts of the City and County of New York. The said one half of said net proceeds to be equally divided among my said four children and in case of their death, among their legal representatives, share and share alike.
I give devise and bequeath unto Flora M. Belding, daughter of Clara Anthony the sum of one hundred dollars. The same to be paid to her upon her arriving at the age of twenty one years and in case of her decease before that age the same shall descend to and vest in my wife Sarah Belding.
3rd All the rest and residue of my estate of whatever nature and wheresoever situated I hereby give devise and bequeath unto my present wife Sarah Belding to have and hold the same unto her sole use and behoof for and during her natural life. And upon her decease, the one half thereof being the one half of my whole estate belonging to me at the time of my decease excepting the legacies above mentioned shall descend to and vest in my son Chester K. Belding. His heirs and assigns forever. And the othr half od my estate shall be at the free disposal of said wife by her last will and testament or other instrument in the nature of a testmentary dispositon in case of her death without such testamentary disposition the same as well as the other half of my estate in case of the death of my son Chester K. Belding without lawful issue before the death of his said mother shall descend to and vest in her heirs and legal representatives.
Thereby nominate constitute and appoint my wife Sarah Belding and my son Chester K. Belding executor of this my last will and testament.
