In the name of God amen.
I, John Nicholas Stump of Windsor Township, Berks County and State of Pennsylvania, yeoman, am at present of sound and healthy Body, mind, memory and understanding, thanks be to God for the same, consider this present the most proper period to make & publish my last Will and testament, and therefore do hereby make publish and declare my last Will & Testament in the manner following.
In primis, I command my immortal soul to God; & my body to the kindert earth, to be buried in a Christian and decent manner, and upon my property of whatever description the same be, I dispose as follows:
My wife Christina shall have my goods & chattels, rights and credits valued and appraised agreeably to Law, shall pay all my debts and have the remainder and the rents, issues & profits of my real estate of which she shall be the sole disposer, as long as she remaineth my widow, but, if she should marry again, she shall give up all the residue of the appraisement except her Bed, bedding, one cow, clothing for twenty dollars, household furniture, and when she has done so shall receive annually out of my real estate during life forty dollars and no more.
After the decease or marriage of my said wife Christina, it is my special will that all the unsold estate, goods & chattels, rights & credits, of whatever nature the same are, shall be sold as hereafter provided and put well secured upon interest, which interest shall be paid half yearly to my daughter Frany, the wife of John Noecker, to her sole and entire use, and to no other, and unalienable by her or her husband. After the decease of my said Daughter Frany, the whole of the outstanding monies so secured shall be collected and equal distribution thereof made to and among all my grandchildren, the legitimate children of my said daughter Frany.
Lastly, I appoint my wife sole Executrix of this my last will, for and during her widowhood, & after her decease or marriage, it is my Will that the Orphans Court of Berks County shall nominate and appoint two discreet & respectable men to be Executors thereof, of whom sufficient Bail be required for the faithfull performance of this my Will, with full power to said Court upon just cause to remove him or them & appoint others, and the Executors so appointed shall have full Power to execute the proper titles for any of my land sold under this Will and be accountable to my daughter for the interest and to her legitimate children for the principal.

Christina Stump, widow, renounces - 25 Jan 1838
Know all men by these presents, that I, Christina Stump of Windsor township in the County of Berks, widow, Executrix named in the last will and testament of Nicholas Stump, late of the same place, deceased, have renounced, released and quit claimed, and by these presents do renounce release and quit claim, all my right and title to the said Executorship and to the administration of the goods and chattels, rights and credits whatsoever, which were of the said deceased, and desire that the same may be committed to Thomas Miller (intermarried to my granddaughter) or to such person or persons as may be entitled thereto.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty-fifth day of January A.D. one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight [1838].

Proved Feby. 12th and Letters of Admin with the Will annexed were granted to Thomas Miller, he being first duly qualified thereunto, the Executrix in the Will named having since died.

On the 12th day of Feby. A.D. 1838 appeared Thomas Miller and Adolph Hatzfield, witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing, and being duly sworn according to Law, did depose and say, that they were present and did see and hear the Testator sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare this Instrument of writing as and for his last Will and Testament, and that at the time of the doing thereof, he the said Testator was of sound mind, memory and understanding, to the best of their knowledge, observation and belief.
