Written on April 13, 1881; probated on May 12, 1881
I, Lewis Woodward, of Robeson Township, in the County of Berks and State of Pennsylvania, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. And First, I direct that my body be decently interred in the Lutheran Cemetery along side of my family buried there, as to such estate as it hath pleased God to intrust me with I dispose of the same as follows viz: Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Suriah the one half of my real and personal property the income of which she shall receive during her natural lifetime.
Item. I give and bequeath to my youngest son John H. the sum of six hundred dollars, also fifty dollars a year for each and every year he labored for me from the time he was twenty one years old to end of the time he labor for me.
Item. I give and bequeath to my son Lewis the sum of three hundred dollars.
Item. I desire after the above bequest be paid the balance to be divided among my heirs deducting any money that I paid to any of my heirs at any time before or after the signing of this my last will and testament.
Item. At the death of my beloved wife I do direct that the half of my real ans personal property bequeathed to her during her natural lifetime be divided equally as soon as it can be done share and share alike among my said heirs.
Item. I direct after my death that my real estate shall be sold as soon as convenient after paying my debts and funeral expenses, distribution be made of the residue as before mentioned.
I do hereby constitute and appoint my friend Edward Evans, sole executor of this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof, I, Lewis Woodward the testator, to this my will written on one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this thirteenth day of April, 1881.
