1897 Amity
In the name of God, amen, I John Witman Senior of Amity Township, in the County of Berks the State of Pennsylvania, yeoman, being advanced in years, but of sound disposing mind and memory, Praised be Almighty God for the same and all other his mercies, and Considering the certainty of Death and the uncertainty of the time thereof, do make and put in writing this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say,
Item I give unto my beloved wife Mary, the use of my messuage tenement and Lot of Land, where I now dwell, during her natural life. I also give to my said wife all my personal estate during her natural life.
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Barbara Rapp wife of Adam Rapp five shillings in money, in one year after my decease.
Item I give and bequeath unto my son John Witman five shillings in money, in one year after my decease.
Item I give and bequeath unto my son Abraham Witman five shillings in money, in one year after my decease.
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Rightmyer wife of John Rightmyer five shillings in money, in one year after my decease.
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Catherine Maybury wife of Thomas Maybury five shillings in money, in one year after my decease.
Item I give and bequeath unto my son Adam Witman five shillings in money, in one year after my decease.
Item I do give and bequeath unto my son David Witman, my messuage tenement and lot of land where I now dwell, after the death of my wife, with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging and all my Personal Estate to him and his heirs forever, who is to pay all my burial expenses and
Lastly I do nominate and appoint my son David Witman to be the Executor of this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other wills heretofore by me made and do declare this to be my only will and Testament in witness whereof I the said John Witman the Testator have here onto set my hand and Seal this twenty six day of March one thousand eight hundred and six.
