To Peter Aurand, esquire, register for the probate of wills and granting letters of administration in and for the county of Berks. Whereas my late husband, John Hill died intestate whereby the right of the administration of the estate of the said deceased did devolve upon me, Catherine Hill, widow and relict of the said desc. Now know ye that for good and diverse reasons and considerations thereunto moving I have released and hereby do release all my rights and title to the administration of the said estate.

At an Orphans Court held in and for the County of Berks, the sixth day of August A.D.1824 before the honorable Robert Porter, Esq. president and William Witman and Jacob Schneider, Esq. associate judges. Upon the petition of Peter Hill and Samuel Hill administrators of all and singular the goods and chattels , rights and credits which were of John Hill late of Berks County, yeoman, deceased.
Setting forth that the said intestate left issue eight children to wit. Catherine, who is intermarried with John Christian, now deceased, leaving issue six children Daniel, Susanna, Catherine, John, Elizabeth and William, the three last of whom are minors; Jacob, Elizabeth intermarried with John Lanciscus now deceased, leaving issue one child Catherine, now a minor . After the decease of John Lanciscus aforesaid, the said Elizabeth intermarried with Jacob Spotts and by him has issue three children in their minority, namely Isaac, William and Sarah. The said Elizabeth is now deceased; John, Peter, Samuel, Daniel, Susanna intermarried with Philip Wolfinger. That the personal estate is insufficient for the payments of his debts and by the account herewith produced appears; and that the said intestate died seized in his demiesne as of fee of and in a certain messauge, tenement and tracts of land situate part in Exeter and part in Alsace Township in the county of Berks adjoining lands of John Briener, Conrad Feger, John Dehard and others, containing one hundred and three acres more or less. Therefore praying the court to grant them an order to make sale of the above mentioned and d described premises for the payments of the debts and for the maintenance and education of the minor children of the said intestate. Therefore the court here upon due consideration grant an order to the said Peter Hill and Samuel Hill administrators as aforesaid for the sale of the above mentioned and described premises directs that they do so on Saturday the eighteenth day of September next at ten o'clock in the forenoon on the premises expose the above mentioned and described premises to sale by public vandue or outcry and sell the same for the purpose in the said petition mentioned. The court further directs that they give due public and timely notice of the time and place of sale agreeably to said that they have liberty to adjourn the sale as to time and place and that they make report of their proceeding herein to our next stated Orphans Court to be held at Reading for the county of Berks aforesaid on the fifth day of November next.

The subscriber acting administrator of the estate within named does hereby report that agreeably to the directions of the foregoing order of the sale at the time and place therein set for the exposed the property therein mention and recited to sale by public vandue or outcry and that the same remains unsold for the want of bidding. Your subscriber therefore prays your ------- to grant him such further time for the sale of the same estate as your ----- may seem and he doth report back

The court on motion grant an alias order for the sale of the lands and tenements within mentioned. Sale to be held on the third Saturday in December at 2 o'clock p.m. at the home of John Bickel, innkeeper in the borough of Reading with liberty to adjourn.

The court on motion appoint Henry Hahn, Joseph Hiester, and Henry Betr auditors to audir, resettle and restate the accounts of the administrators and make a pro rata distribution.
At an Orphans Court held at Reading in and of the county of Berks the q10th day of April 1829 Before the honorable Robert Porter, esq. President and his associate judges the written account being presented for confirmation the same was confirmed by the court.
