Last Will and Testament of Henrich Glick

In the Name of God Amen

I Henrich Glick of Albany Township Bercks County in the State of Pennsilvanie a Farmer, make, order and state with this my Last Will and Testament as Following.

First, It is my Will that my Body shall be buried according to the custom of Christians.

Secondly, My justly due Debts shall be paid so soon as possible also the expences of my Burrial and of the rest

Thirdly, All my moveable estate as Cattle, House and Kitchin furniture and utensils except what afterwords within otherways bequeated, shall by my hereafter appointed Executors be sold so soon as possible and turned in to Money, and given out upon Interest secured by them.

Fourthly, My Plantation on which I live now and possess containing about ninety seven Acres shall have my Son in law Johann Heinrich Jampert under the following Conditions. To wit, he shall pay Nine hundred Pound for it as follows, One hundred pound one Year after my Death and then Fifty Pound every Year until the whole Sum is paid. But if he should live so long or leave some heirs with my Daughter Sybilla when Six hundred Pounds are paid, then the last six Bonds shall be given up as the hereditament of my Daughter Sybilla. Said Johann Heinrich Jampert shall also to my wife Eva or also the Possessor of said Plantation give, pay and deliver the following Parts as that was is kept for her, to wit, she shall have have and keep a free and undisturbed possession so long as she lives in and of the Room in which we now live, also a free and undisturbed use of the Kitchen, Spring house, Cellar and Garret, Bake oven, Stove and so forth, The little orchard behind the barn for her use and if she desires to make cider of the apples and to bring the apples or the cider to the stiller, she shall also have the small meadow long the creek from the apple stump to the rock under the apple tree to graze in, which shall be fenced apart if she desires it, One Cow shall also during the summer pasture and during the winter be feed with the Cows of the possessors of the Plantation. also the third Part of the great and the half of the little garden both shall be by the Possessor every Year dunged, also a quarter acre Flax yearly on which side she want of that which the Possessor has sewed for himself and a quarter acre well dunged and prepared for Potatoes and half a acre Indian corn which shall be delivered for her use well ploughed and dunged. Fewel as much as she want, brought to the house, splitted and carried in to the house. Two sheep also shall be kept to her use and two hives and the small part of the hog pen for her hogs and the right to keep twelve fowls. The stove shall after her Death come to my Daughters Magdalena and Maria.

Fiftly, I give and bequeath to my Wife the following, two complete Beds which she chuses, the Yarn, flax, wool and linen cloth which is in the house, two Chests which she chuses, all her clothes, one table two chairs, the corner drawer in our Room with all what is in it and One hundred and Eighty Pounds in Money of the first Payments which my Son in Law Henrich Keller has yet to pay me and the Kitchen furniture so much as she is in need of and if she should be in want of it, she shall after the above mentioned One hundred and Eighty Pounds are spent, have the Interests of the Money which was received for the moveable goods to her sustenance, if she stands to this my Testament as Long as she lives.

Sixthly, I give and bequeath to Henrich Keller, who is married to my daughter Salome the Sum of three hundred pounds to wit the ten last Bonds which he owes me yet and my smith utensils.

Seventhly, I give and bequeath further to Johann Heinrich Jampert married to my Daughter Sybilla the tin plated Stove which Johannes Schuman has rented of me, the Windmill in the barn, harness for one horse, of the grain which is yet in the field shall be thresh for himself twenty five bushel rye and seven bushel wheat, the half of the oats which is sowed to be divided in the shocks, the half of the Indian corn to be divided in the ears and the half of the buckwheat to be divided by the bushel. But Johann Henrich Jambert must do all the work only that I will find the buckwheat for feed and that it shall be done with my horses feed with my feed and the next sowing with wintergrain shall be done by him and shall have two thirds of it for himself and one third give to my Wife, except the new Land that shall he have for himself.

Eighthly, I give and bequeath to my Daughters Magdalene and Marie to everyone Three hundred Pounds out of the Money which Johann Henrich Jampert has to pay for the Plantation and further after the Death of their Mother yet fifty Pounds to everyone and further I bequeath to those two youngest Daughters five acres Land which join my Plantation and the Land of Jonathan Klohs and Adam Federwolf.

Ninthly, If one of my Children should die without Law full heirs then his Portion shall be divided amongst the other heirs in equal Shares.

Tenthly, My within names Executors shall have a right and I give them with this the right, to give and to execute Deeds for the Land by me within this bequeathed.

Eleventhly, What is before mentioned as kept for my Wife Eva and the money fixed to be paid by Johan Henrich Jampert shall a so styled lease be on the Plantation and also so expressed in the Deed. Only if my Wife should be married again then she shall lose directly her seat and all what is kept for her and shall have then nothing but fifty Pounds, her Bed, one Cow and her Kitchen furniture

Twelthly and Lastly I constitute to the execution of this my Last Will and Testament as Executors my Wife Eva and my Son in Law Henrich Keller. Witnessed by my Hand and Seal the 26th Juny 1804

The Petition of Henry Keller a Brother in Law of Magdalena Glick & Mary Glick Daughters of Henry Glick late of Albany Township yeoman etc

Setting forth

That James Smith was appointed Guardian to take care of the person and the Estate of the Aforesaid Magdalena and Mary, that the Guardian aforesaid has moved to Northumberland County, and never received any part of the Estate of the said minors in his hand, that they are under the age of fourteen years, & therefore pray the Court to appoint some other person or persons Guardian for said Minors and he will pray
