Richmond 1842
In the name of God, Amen. I Esther Heckman of Richmond Township Berks County State of Pennsylvania being sick and weak of body but of sound mind memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last will and testament. And first, I commit my soul into the hands of my Creator who gave it, and my body to the Earth at the discretion of my Executor herein after named and sa to such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to Entrust me I dispose of the same as follows –
1st I give and bequeath unto my grand children that is the children of Peter Heckman deceased of Ohio the sum of ten dollars being four in number each two dollars and fifty cents.
2nd I give and bequeath unto my three children namely George, Aaron and Esther intermarried with Daniel Miller all my property real personal and mixed in three equal portions share and share alike.
And lastly I constitute my son Aaron to be my true and lawful Executor and that he shall first pay out of my Estate all my debts and funeral expenses.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 13th day of January A.D. 1842.

Berks County SS – On the 25th day of January A.D. 1842 appeared Samuel Babb and Benjamin Messersmith, witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing and being duly sworn according to law, did dispose and say that they were present and did see and hear the said testatrix Esther Heckman sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the foregoing as and for her last will and testament and that at the time of the doing thereof she was of sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge observation and belief.
