In the name of God, Amen, I Charlotte Schmeck of the Borough of Reading, Berks County & State of Pennsylvania. Being widow being at present in bad health & weak of body but Blessed be to God of sound Mind Memory & understanding but considering the uncertainty of this transitory Life do Make and Publish this my Last Will & Testament in the manner form following to wit
First It is my will & I do order & direct all my just and funeral Expenses to be duly paid & satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my decease.
Item I give and Bequeath unto my son Charles Schmeck the house & lot of ground wherever I now reside on this exact condition to wit who was I am now indebted to him my said son Charles the sum of two hundred dollars. It is my will that he shall sell my said house and lot for the best price that can be obtained for it and deduct from the purchase money received therefore the said sum of two hundred dollars for his own use and the residue of the purchase money together with the money arising out of the sale of my personal property shall be added together into one total sum & divided into equal shares to and amongst my children hereafter named share & share alike that is to say my son Edward Schmeck, my said son Charles Schmeck, my daughter Susan now intermarried with Peter Eisenbise, my son William Schmeck, my daughter Barbara Schmeck but my will is that the said Barbara shall have one bed and bedding extra, my daughter Anna Eliza Schmeck shall also have bed extra.
And Lastly I do nominate constitute & appoint my said son Charles Schmeck to be my Executor of this my Last Will hereby revoking all other wills by declaring this & no other to be my Last Will & Testament. In witness I have herein set my hand & seal this thirtieth day of April AD 1841.
