A golden wedding anniversary is a rare and notable event in most families, but to enjoy sixty-two years of wedded bliss is the distinction that falls to Mr. and Mrs. George Heist, of near Argus, Bucks county. If this couple survives until October 14, 1900, they will have completed their sixty-second year of married life. Nearly their entire life-time has been spent in the neighborhood where they now reside, seven miles from Pennsburg. Mr. Heist will be eighty-five years old October 11, and Mrs. Heist was eighty-five January 31, 1900. Each was born in 1815. Mr. and Mrs. Heist still do their own work, the latter in the house and Mr. Heist attending to the work on his small farm. Mr. Heist is as spry as many a young man in the neighborhood, and his wife also claims all her faculties with the exception of a chronic weakness of her limbs. The couple was blessed with six children, all of whom survive except Jeremiah Heist, who died recently at his home in Tylesport. The children are: Revere Heist, Mrs. Thomas Raudenbush, Tylersport; Mrs. Isaac Nace, Perkasie; Mrs. William Stahr, Bethlehem, and Mrs. Jonas Barndt, Telford.
