Judge Claude Trexler Reno was born at Lyons, Berks County, Pennsylvania, April 4, 1882, the son of Joseph F. and Amelia (Trexler) Reno. He graduated from the Allentown High School in 1900, and during the next two years attended Muhlenberg College, going from there to Dickinson Law School; he finished his law course in 1905.
In 1906 Mr. Reno was solicitor to the sheriff of Lehigh County, and from 1908 to 1912, county solicitor. He was associated with Congressman DeWalt and later with Judge Iobst of the Common Pleas bench. In 1911 he was elected to the Pennsylvania Legislature, and in 1920 became solicitor for the city of Allentown. In November, 1921, Governor Sproul appointed him judge of the Lehigh County Court to fill the vacancy left by the death of Hon. Milton C. Henninger. In 1923 he was elected to the office for a term of ten years.
Judge Reno is a member of the County, State, and America Bar associations; Past State President of the Patriotic Order Sons of America; a member of the Free and Accepted Masons (thirty-second degree); the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks; the Fraternal Order of Eagles; the Independent Order of Artisans; the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Knights of Friendship, Kiwanis Club, Livingston Club, and St. John's Lutheran Church. He has long been greatly interested in Sunday schools, and is now president of the Lehigh Sunday School Association.
Judge Reno was married August 14, 1906, to May (Grim) Appel.
