Morning--Special Services in All Churches

If ever an occasion called for prayer and thanksgiving to Almighty God it is the observance of the 175th Anniversary of the Founding of Reading, Pa.

It is, therefore, fitting and proper that this day, the first of a week of merry-making, festivities, reunions and pageantry, should be devoted to giving thanks to Him through whose Divine Providence this celebration has been made possible.

This, then, will be the theme of the services in all the churches, and it is hoped that everyone, resident and visitor alike, will attend church on this day.

Go to your own church, if you are a member of a church. If not a member of any church, go to any church, and you'll be very welcome. Help, by your presence, to start Reading's 175th Anniversary right.

Afternoon--Mass Meeting at Lauer's Ball Park at 3 P.M.

This meeting will be addressed by speakers of national prominence. Men who have a real message to convey and will convey it in an interesting and helpful way.

With a seating capacity of 6,400 at the Park, it is hoped by the management of the 175th Anniversary that every available seat will be filled for this meeting.

It will serve as a fitting prelude to Anniversary Week, particularly as it will afford an opportunity for old-time friends and acquaintances to meet and renew former ties. For this reason particularly the management extends a special invitation to former residents to attend.

Evening--Nothing Scheduled
