This indenture made the twenty-fifth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty-six between Jacob Petry of the Borough of Reading, in the County of Berks and State of Pennsylvania, weaver, of the one part, and John Hepler of the same borough, county and state aforesaid, carpenter, of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Jacob Petry for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars lawful money of the state of Pennsylvania to him in hand well and truly paid by the said John Hepler at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and thereof doth acquit and forever discharge the said John Hepler his heirs, executors and administrators. By these presents hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release, and confirm unto the said John Hepler and to his heirs and assigns all that certain southernmost moiety piece, parcel or half lot of ground situate in the Borough of Reading, County of Berks aforesaid and marked in the general [plan] of the town of the town of Reading number four hundred and ninety-two bounded on the north by the northernmost moiety of said lot number four hundred and ninety-two, on the east by Queen street, on the South by lot number four hundred and ninety-three and on the west by a twenty feet alley. Containing in width or breadth from north to south thirty feet and in length or depth from east to west two hundred and thirty feet. It being the same premises which John Penn, William Penn and Juliana Catharine Penn by their attorney Marks John Biddle by indenture dated the tenth day of March A.D. 1820 for the consideration therein mentioned granted and confirmed unto the said Jacob Petry his heirs and assigns forever as, in and by the said indenture intended to be recorded, relation being thereunto had appears.
Together also with all and singular the house, outhouses, barns, stables, gardens, orchards, meadows, fields, fences, ways, woods, waters, water courses, rights, liberties, privileges, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the revenues and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof and also all the estate, right, title, interest, use, trust, property, possession, claim and demand whatsoever of them the said Jacob Petry in law or equity or otherwise howsoever of, in, to or out of the same. To have and to hold the said southernmost moiety piece parcel or half lot of ground, hereditaments and premises hereby granted and released or mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances whatsoever unto the said John Hepler, his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Hepler his heirs and assigns forever and the said Jacob Petry for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant, promise, grant and agree to and with the said John Hepler his heirs and assigns by these presents that he the said Jacob Petry and his heirs the said above mentioned and described southern most moiety piece, parcel or half lot of ground, hereditaments and premises hereby granted and released or mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said John Hepler his heirs and assigns against him the said Jacob Petery and his heirs and against all and every other person and for persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part or parcel thereof by, from or under him, them or any of them shall and will warrant and forever defend by their presents. In Witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seals dated the day and year first above written.

Pennsylvania, Berks County, ss: Be it remembered that on the twenty-fifth day of July Anno Domini, 1826 before me Peter Nagle, Esq. one of the Justices of the Peace of the said county, personally came the above named Jacob Petry and acknowledged the above indenture to be his act and deed and desired that the same might be recorded as such according to Law.
