Anna Zimmerly, daughter of Isaac and Clara Zimmerly, of Pine Iron Works, was born September 23d, 1889, baptized March 31st, 1890. The mother stood for the child.
Anna Linderman, daughter of George and Hannah Linderman, of Oley, was born November 19th, 1889, baptized March 31st, 1890. The mother stood for her daughter.
Beulah Frances Barto, daughter of Daniel and Nora Barto, of Amity, was born September 25th, 1889, baptized April 12th, 1890, the parents being the sponsors.
James Raymond Himmelberger, son of James and Clara Himmelberger, of Monocacy, was born January 31st, 1890, baptized April 14th, 1890. The parents stood for the child.
Harry Wilmer Adams, son of William and Annie Adams, of near Greshville, was born March 7th, 1890, baptized April 27th. The parents stood for the child.
Charles Howard Henderson, son of David and Maggie Henderson, of near Douglassville, was born February 15th, 1890, baptized May 5th. The parents stood for the child.

Catharine L. Focht, of Earl, was the daughter of John and Maria Reinert, born April 2d, 1816, in Douglass Twp.; baptized in infancy by Rev. Jacob Miller. The sponsors were David Reinert and Anna Maria, his wife. Later in life she was confirmed a member of Amityville Lutheran Church, by Rev. Conrad Miller. In 1832, November 25th, she was married to Elijah Focht, (who died February 9th, 1890). They had 5 sons and 6 daughters, of whom 3 sons and 3 daughters survive. Two brothers also still live. She died of heart disease, Saturday evening, at 8:45, March 29th. She suffered about 2 weeks, but was bedfast only 2 days. She was buried on Maundy Thursday, April 3d, at Oley. Text: Rom. 8:34. Age 73 years, 11 months, 27 days.
Levi G. Fisher, of Reading, was the son of Aaron and Rebecca Fisher, born May 2d, 1835; baptized in infancy, and in his youth was confirmed a member of the Lutheran Church. He was twice married. The fruits of the union with his first wife were 2 sons and 1 daughter, of whom 1 son and the daughter still live. The name of his second wife was Lucy Hill, who died October 30th, 1886. He died of apoplexy in Reading on Easter Sunday evening, April 6th, aged 54 years, 11 months, 4 days. He was buried from the home of his son Hiester, in Amityville, April 11th, at Amityville. Sarah Firing, of Monocacy Hill, was the daughter of William and Margaret Shirey, was born March 4th, 1828; baptized in infancy. In 1852 she was married to Jacob Firing, and they were blessed with 5 sons and 4 daughters, one of the daughters, the oldest, died years ago. The deceased suffered long and much from consumption, ailing over a year but was bedfast only a few months. She fell asleep on Friday, 4:45 p.m., May 9th, aged 62 years, 2 months, 2 days. She was buried at Amityville, Tuesday, May 13th. Text: Ps. 8:5. (In English Ps. 8:4; in German Ps. 8:5).
Amy Bertha Hawk, daughter of James and Ellen Hawk, of Baumstown, was born December 24th, 1888; baptized July, 1889, by Rev. Z. H. Gable. The child took sick on Tuesday, 10 a.m., May 14th, and died Wednesday, 2:45 a.m., of convulsions, aged 1 year, 4 months, 20 days. She was buried on Saturday, at Amityville. Text: Phil. 3:20
Marietta Sayer, of Upper Oley, was the daughter of Charles Rothermel and wife Barbara (born Weidner). She was born May 20th, 1838, and baptized November 10th, 1838, by Rev. Charles Herman. The sponsors were John Reiter and Catharine Scheth. Later in life she was confirmed by Rev. G. A. Hinterleitner at Friedensburg. In 1858 she was married to Joel Sayer, who survives her. The union was blessed with 3 sons and 3 daughters, but 2 of the daughters died before the mother. She was sick about 12 days suffering from cramp and constipation. She died May 21st, Wednesday, 9:30 p.m., aged 52 years, 1 day. She was buried May 27th, at Friedensburg. Text: (selected) Job 7:3.
George Weiser was the son of Daniel and Elnora Weiser, of Pottstown, born August 26th, 1888, baptized January 5th, 1889, by Rev. D. K. Kepner. The sponsors were Peter and Lydia German. He was taken rather suddenly with dysentery and died May 17th, aged 1 year, 8 months and 21 days. He was buried at Amity, May 20th. Text: Ps 4:9
Carrie Wesner was the daughter of Levi and Louisa Wesner, of Amityville; she was born in Blandon, October 4th, 1872; baptized January 19th, 1873, by Rev. C. Gingerich. The parents were the sponsors. Later in her life she became a member of the church known as the Evangelical Association, a branch of the Methodist church. She was sickly for about 18 months, complaining of throat and lung troubles, the disease taking a more serious turn for the last two months. She gently fell asleep on Thursday morning, 2:45 o'clock, June 5th. She was buried on Tuesday, June 10th, at Blandon. Text: Ps 103:15-18. Her age was 17 years 8 months and 1 day.
William Conrad, of Oley, was the son of Reuben Conrad and his wife Leah, born Potts. He was born July 29th, 1861, and baptized January 10th, 1863 by Rev. G. A. Hinterleitner. The parents were the sponsors. He was sick about 5 weeks, and bedfast about 2 weeks, suffering from scrofula, dropsy and liver troubles, and died on Saturday morning, June 14th, at 6 1/2 o'clock, aged 28 years, 10 months and 15 days. He was buried in the Friedensburg Cemetery on Tuesday, June 17th. Text: Job 7:17. Three brothers and two sisters survive.
We had, also, the honor to be invited to assist in the funeral services of Miss M. Dora Groh, oldest daughter of Rev. L. Groh, of Boyertown. She was born May 3d, 1872; died June 15th, at Buffalo Springs, Lebanon Co., with her uncle. She was buried from her home in Boyertown, June 19th. Rev. Kepner, of Pottstown, conducted the altar services. Rev. Horine, of Reading made an English address, based on 1 Thess. 4:18. Rev. Smith made a German address, based on Songs of Solomon, 6:2. (In German Bible, Songs of Solomon, 6:1). Her age was 18 years, 1 month and 12 days. Her mother died 12 years ago.
