The Devil continually wars with us and tries to sieze us in his power. It is only by the Holy baptism and the help of Christ that we can withstand him. The Devil gives us no rest. Help us, Lord God and be holy Evangels.
N.B.
The entries are made by the above John George Haag, in an old German Bible, printed in Nuremberg, Germany, in 173-. The cover of this Bible is outstanding, in that it is leather, embossed in designs which were used by the Pennsylvania-Germans, in the decoration of furniture, taufscheins and barns.
