Query: SCHMIDT, LOESCH (LASH, LESH): Seeking information
on Heinrich Schmidt, b. 12-25-1741 in Lancaster County, Pa. (now Berks
County), who married Maria Barbara Loesch about 1763. She was the
daughter of Georg Loesch, an early settler in the Tulpehocken region
whose children were all baptized at Reeds Church. Searching for a
marriage record for Henry and Maria. They had a child baptised in 1764 at
Christ Lutheran Church, Stouchsburg, and likely were married at that
church. However, records are missing from 1752-1772. Would appreciate any
leads as to the parents of Heinrich. Have ruled out John Henry Smith who
moved to the Heidelberg Twp. area in 1748. Other candidates include a
George Schmidt who came from New York in 1728 and a Heinrich Smith who is
described as an Indian trader who purchased land in 1733. Any help would

FREZIA/FREZIS/FREIZE. I have a picture of a man in a vest-
front with white ornate embroidered coils on a dark background and a
white fringed apron, which may have a very faint number on it, which
appears to be 136. I realize that he is an officer of some fraternal
lodge, but I do not know what kind. The picture was taken by Howard &
Phillips gallery, at the corner of Sixth and Penn Streets in Reading.
There is some very pale writing on the back, which has the name Walter C
(?) Frezis(a). Mayor 186(6).
There is also the surname Frawley but the given name is not legible. The
F in both names could possibly be T.
I am trying to identify the man in this picture. Can anyone give any
