Query: FISCHER,MILLER Can anyone help me identify the JOHANNES FISCHER, who was a blacksmith in the Oley area as early as the mid 1730's? Was he the same JOHANNES FISCHER who came to America with the KOCHERTAL group in 1709. The latter was a 27 year old blacksmith at the time, and he settled with his wife in Quassaik Kill on the Hudson. They sold their property in 1722, and I have been unable to trace his movements beyond that point. From the names of his children and the fact that he was a blacksmith, I suspect that he was the JOHANNES FISCHER of Oley, but I have no proof. His granddaughter CATHERINE FISCHER married a NICHOLAS MILLER in the mid 1770's, and this family moved 1n the 1790's to Shenandoah County, Virginia. Does anyone know who the parents of this NICHOLAS MILLER were?.

Query:I remember a story told by my g grandmother re: three KEPLEY brothers that travelled from "Burke County Penn." to Rowan County North Carolina before 1790. I can only assume that "Burke" is Berk County. Much of the family then left Rowan County in the early 1800's for the mid-western states according to what I was told. One of these brothers was the father of PETER KEPLEY (b. 1791-1799 d. June 1849) who was father of JACOB NATHANIEL KEPLEY (b. April 1832 d. February 1888). Jacob was father of HENRY LEE KEPLEY who was father of my grandmother ANNIE LOU KEPLEY (b.1900 d.1997)- These 4 generations resided in Rowan and Stanly Counties of North Carolina.
