Query: In researching family relations previously located in Longswamp Township, I ran across a reference to a birth or baptismal date for a Maria Julia LONG as being "Brachmonat 26, 1761." My German-English dictionary provides a translation that would equate to "Fallow month." In actual usage would that be June, July, August or September? Other data suggests June, but I cannot be certain.

Query: Looking for the siblings of Johannes Ebling, b. abt. 1725. Johnnes is the son of Ludwick Ebling. One of Johannes' sons was named Johann Paulus Ebling and there's a chance this son was named for a brother or cousin of his father. This cousin or brother may be my gggg grandfather so I'd really like to find this information. We have my gggg grandfather listed as John Paul Epling. He died in 1809 in Giles Co., Va. and signed his will Paul Ebling. He is listed in records in Va. as Paul Ebling, Paul Epling, Sr. and, in one case, on a land grant in 1787 in Montgomery Co. Va., as John Miller - aka Paul Ebling. Giles County Family Histories suggests that he may have come to Va. from Pa., possibly Berks Co. He had 5 children, all from his first wife Margaret, who were named John, Daniel, Paul(Jr.), Isaac and Philip. The children were born from 1770 to 1789. Margaret's last name is unknown.
