Query: I am looking for names of parents of John B Dehart, born December 1835 or 1836, supposedly in Reading. He went to Dauphin county for a time, then returned to Reading, possibly to Schuykill St, to a street of row houses, where he had a large back yard reached by a covered walkway, which contained a garden and fruit trees, and in the back a carriage house rented out as a candy factory. This must have been in 1920 give or take a few years. Then he and his wife went to live with a daughter in New Jersey, where they died. I have reason to think he may be of the family of John Dehart who married Mary/Polly Harner/Horner, a son of John's son Gilbert. So I would also like to know more about this family.

Query: Seek any info available on Anna Barbara BURRIER, nee KERCHIN (also possibly spelled KERSEN, KERCHER or KARCHER) and three children named John, Madlen Catrinah and Johen. Widowed with the death of Jacob BURRIER (aka BOURGHER, BURGER, BERGER, etc.) in Longswamp Township, Berks County in 1759. In 1763, making her mark to her name as Barbara BURGER she sold the land granted to Jacob BURRIER in Longswamp Township to a Peter HAAS. My quest is to find where she went with the children after selling the land and whether she remarried, returned to her family, or ahwtever. I have a gap of about 30 years between the death of Jacob BURRIER the father and a possible son named Jacob BURRIER who was married to Anna Maria NAGLE in 1798 by the Rev. Thomas Pomp based in Easton PA, but serving as far west as the Dryland Church in Hecktown. Was she a daughter of the John Henry and Anna Margaret KERSEN of Oley Township whose will abstract was recently published in the Journal of the Berks County Genealogicla Society?

I have searched everywhere for this family in PA and have had no luck so far. Most of the family ended up in Colorado. Query: I am researching the name Hawkins BOONE. He was the brother of Elizabeth (BOONE) DEFRANCE, my ggggg grandmother. Hopefully, if we can trace him, we can trace her. Hawkins BOONE was a Captain in the 12th PA regiment, Continental Army. There are also records indicating he was originally commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant of the 4th Company of the 2nd Battalion of the Northumberland (PA) Militia. And that he was transferred to the 12th about the time it was consolidated into the 3rd and 6th. We know that he resided in Exeter, Berks Co PA in 1770 and 1771 based upon a deed in his name. We believe he was a surveyor there. He was killed on July 28, 1779 at the Battle of Fort Freeland, near the present-day Sunbury, Northumberland Co, PA. We have this info from several different sources. We also know that a Robert ARTHUR, who married Susan BOONE (his sister) was an administrator of the Captain's estate, as was a Jean (Jane) BOONE. Jane FORTENBAUGH applied for and received the Captain's widow's pension in Rush twp, Dauphin Co, PA 5/22/1839. She was the widow of Philip FORTENBAUGH who "...died many years before." His birth date and place are unknown, as are the names of his parents. There is some speculation that he was a child of Joseph and Catherine BOONE, who are said to have resided on lands adjoining Squire BOONE's. Joseph was born 4/5/1704 and died 1/30/1776. However we've never found records of their children as they apparently lived outside the Friends Society. Family tradition for years has had him a cousin of Daniel BOONE's. But we've never been able to make the connection. Hawkins is believed to have had three sisters, Elizabeth (my relative), Sarah and Susan, and a least one brother, Samuel. John Henry and Elizabeth (BOONE) DEFRANCE named their 5th child Abram Boone and their 6th child Hawkins Boone. Hawkins Boone DF is my direct ancestor, and one of my sons is named Hawkins Boone DF III. Boone has been a commonly used middle name by the DeFrances for nearly 200 years. Please contact me if you can shed any light on this mystery.
