Query: I am seeking the names of the parents and/or wives of a Georg SEITZ (b. ca 1717)that first reputedly emmigrated to (now)Berks Co. PA in the Early to mid 1700's. The first names of these wives are believed to be Charity (1st wife) & (2nd)Catherine Gertrude. First children of George show place of birth as Area that became Berks Co. PA on later census taken after Georg moved to Hardy Co. VA. Several of his sons married Daughters of Johann Adam LOUGH/LOCH (Daniel SEITZ/SITES - Eve LOUGH)(Jacob SEITZ/SITES Jr. - Margaret Lough)(George SEITZ/SITES Jr. - Susanna LOUGH)(Abraham SEITZ/SITES - 1st m. Hannah LOUGH 2nd m. sister Elizabeth LOUGH) (Daniel SEITZ daughter married the younger brother Conrad LOUGH) Somwhere surely there must be a reference to the surname(s) of Georg SEITZ wives.... and hopefully the names of his parents. I would solve a centuries old mystery if I could find parents for Georg and his place of origin in Germany. His wives surnames would be a good start! Thank-you for just taking the time to read this.

Query: Hi, I'm just getting started researching my family's tree. My problem is; I seem to have hit a gap in the line. According to my father's records, I am descended from Johannes Stitzel (Stoetzel), who arrived in Pennsylvania in 1753. One of his sons was Adam Stitzel, who was born on 1-15-1769, and died 9-21-1828. Adam married Susan Levin, born 3-16-1773 and died 12-6-1854. They had a son named Jacob, who was born 11-4-1799 and died 12-8-1863. Jacob married a woman named Hannah E., of whom I have very little information. This is where my missing link occurs. Jacob and Hannah had a son, who was my great, great grandfather. I have absolutely no record of him. He, in turn, had a son named Harry H. Stitzel. Sometime during Harry's lifetime, the family migrated to Illinois. If you could provide me with any information on Jacob's wife, Hannah E., or their son, Harry Stitzel's father; I would greatly appreciate it. Also, any other suggestions, you might have, would also be appreciated. Jack Stitzel

Query: I'am in desperate need of information. I'am trying to locate the gravesite of my great great grandfather, William Burns, he died around 1908-1910. He is burried at the St. Peters Roman Catholic Cemetery on the hill by South street. There are 3 cemeteries in a row up there, if you are looking at them from south street, the one in the middle is Trinity, the one on the left is St. John's and the one on the right, the most run down one is the one I'am looking for information on. I went to the Berks County Historical Society and they only had a book listing the gravestone inscriptions, but unfortunetely, William's grave is unmarked, so I need to locate the original cemetery records, does anyone know where I can find these, St Peters told me that I needed to goto The Berks County Historical Society, and that didn't help.

Query: According to a cousin a reference to a Johannes Schwedener of Greenwich Township, Berks County was listed in "German Settlers a listing of April 9, 1762", from advertisments in German newspapers published in Philadelphia and Germantown, 1743-1800 by Edward W. Hocker. This individual, Johannes Mardin/Martin Schwedner, may be the same individual who arrived at the Port of Philadelphia on September 16, 1738 on the Queen Elizabeth, with Captain Alexander Hope, Master from Rotterdam and last from Deal, England. At the time of his arrival, if my information is correct, Johannes was 51 years of age, had a seven year old son and a wife. The son, John Schwedner(1731-1790), later changing the spelling to Swadner, shows in in Libertytown, Maryland. It is at this point that I can trace my family and all of his descendants. Any information on Johannes would be greatly appreciated Morris G. Swadener Jr. P. O. Box 1821 Kingston, WA 98346 (360) 297-5434 swadener@tscnet.com
