Carlynton High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has a history that includes the creation of a new school district, the selection of a name, and the school's football team.

The name for the high school was chosen in 1969 by Mary Penelope, a student from Crafton.

Carlynton represents the three communities the new district served; Carnegie, Rosslyn Farms and Crafton.
