Dravosburg Borough The borough is named after John F. Dravo. The Borough of Dravosburg is located adjacent to the Monongahela River, surrounded by the Borough of West Mifflin in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
Dravosburg was incorporated in 1903 having been part of the former Mifflin Township. The economy of the borough was initially based on coal mining and the sale of the same,
so the town was named after John F. Dravo, a very prominent local leader in the coal industry and was a boat manufacturer. A small post office was opened in what would later become Dravosburg in 1863, and John F. Dravo served as its first postmaster. Since 1903, Dravosburg has remained a vibrant and tight-knit community with several familial generations continuing to raise families with its borders. Consisting of only one square mile, Dravosburg is home to many family-owned
businesses including industrial equipment services, food service supply procuring and shipping, automotive and diesel repair shops, as well as some of the best restaurants and taverns worth a try. The population was 1,612 at the 2020 census.
