NANCE - GIBBS
Miss Jean GIBBS of Oakdale and Philip A Nance, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph NANCE of
Barr street, McDonald, were united in marriage at 7:30 o'clock Monday evening,
October 30, 1939, in Pittsburgh. The bride wore blue crepe and her flowers were orchids.
A reception followed in the home of the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. Ted JOZUIAKOWSKI.
There were fifty guests with eighteen seated at the bride's table. The young couple will
reside in Barr street, McDonald. Mr. and Mrs. NANCE received many gifts. Out-of-town
guests included the bride's sisters of Oakdale and Gregg, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph MONDOZA
and Mr. and Mrs. Moses SHAFFER of Montour No. 9.

A double wedding of much interest and one which comes as a surprise to the many friends of the young couples, took place on Thursday evening,
December 28, 1922, at 5:45 o'clock at the parsonage of the First Christian church in Allison avenue, Washington, Pa., the officiating clergyman being the Rev. J. W. LOVE.
The bridal couples were Miss Beulah Mae TILTON, daughter of Clark A. TILTON of Midway, and Sweeney Hamilton McCLAIN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles McCLAIN of Jefferson avenue,
Washington, and Miss Hazel Bell PAUL, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. PAUL of West Beau street, Washington, and Fred NASER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. NASER of North Main street, Washington.
The double ring service was used, there being no attendants. The brides wore gowns of dark blue satin canton crepe and carried pink and white roses. Immediately following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. NASER left for their home in North Main street while Mr. and Mrs. McCLAIN were entertained at a 6
o'clock turkey dinner at the home of the bridegroom's parents. A color scheme of pink and white was effectively used in the
[begins Part 2] appointments. The guest list included only the immediately families and a few close friends. That day marked the
twenty-third anniversary of Mr. McCLAINS parents' wedding day. The young couple will reside at 427 Jefferson avenue, Washington.
The two brides are well known young women. Mrs. McCLAIN, a former resident of Midway, graduated from the Washington Business
college with the class of 1921. For the past year she has been girls matron at the Children's Home. Mr. McCLAIN and Mr. NASER are
both employed at the Duncan-Miller glass factory.

St. Alphonsus' Church Scene of Wedding

Miss Helen ORTOSKI, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max ORTOSKI of Valley street, McDonald, and Frank
NAVELLI, son of Mr. and Mrs. Angelo
NAVELLI of Carnegie, were united in marriage at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 1947, in St.
Alphonsus' church. The Rev. Fr. Martin FLAHERY
of St. Patrick's church, Noblestown, performed the double ring ceremony at the nuptial high mass.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a white gown with white lace top and silk chiffon hoop skirt trimmed with sequins. Her
fingertip veil was held in place with a sweetheart cap of silk lace. She carried an arm bouquet of white roses. The matron of honor, Mrs. Enoch
MATHEWS of McDonald, sister of the bride, wore a blue chiffon gown with matching headdress and carried an arm bouquet of cut flowers.
Bridesmaids were Miss Ida NAVELLI and Mrs. Patrick SLICK, both of Carnegie, sisters of the bridegroom. The junior bridesmaid was Miss
Marie ORTOSKI of McDonald, sister of the bride. They each wore a pastel chiffon gown with matching hat and carried bouquets of cut flowers. Patrick SLICK of Carnegie served as
bestman, and Leonard BRUNO of Imperial, Lawrence ENRIETTI of Weirton, cousin of the bridegroom,
and William ORTOSKI of Greensburg, brother of the bride, were ushers. Patricia Lou SLICK of Carnegie, niece of the bridegroom was flower
girl and William ORTOSKI, Jr., of Greensburg, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.
A reception for 200 guests was held in the evening in the American Legion home, McDonald. A buffet luncheon was served by the members
of the American Legion Auxiliary. Upon their return from a Southern honeymoon, the young couple will reside in Carnegie.
Mrs. NAVELLI, a 1941 graduate of McDonald high school and the Grace Martin School of Business, Pittsburgh, has been employed as a
secretary by the Carnegie Illinois Steele Co., Carnegie. Mr. NAVELLI, a graduate of the Carnegie high school, served three years in the army,
most of which time was spent in the Pacific theater. He is employed as a clerk at the Superior Steel Co., Carnegie.
Attending the ceremony were the parents, relatives and close friends of the couple.

Miss Pauline PIERRARD, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peusper PIERRARD of North avenue, Midway, and William
NAVOSKI, son of Mr. and Mrs.
William NAVOSKI of Cherry Valley, were united in marriage at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 1947, in Center United Presbyterian church, Midway.
The pastor, the Rev. Eldin HENNETT, performed the double ring ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a skipper blue gabardine suit with bright navy and white rosebuds. The maid of honor, Miss
Rosine PIERRARD of Midway, sister of the bride, wore a cinnamon tweed suit with brown and beige accessories and a corsage of Talisman
roses. Michael NAVOSKI of Cherry Valley, brother of the bridegroom, served as
bestman. The bride's mother wore a poudre blue suit with
navy accessories and a corsage of spring flowers. The bridegroom's mother wore a black dress with matching accessories and a corsage of
spring flowers. Preceding the ceremony, Mrs. John KRAMER, Jr., the church organist, played the "Venetian Love Song" and
Lohengrin's,
"Bridal Chorus" and following the ceremony, Mendetohn's "Wedding March."
Following the ceremony, a dinner for the immediate families was served in the home of the bride. Ten were seated at the bride's table which
was centered with a three-tiered wedding cake. Later, the young couple left for a week's motor trip.
Mrs. NAVOSKI is a 1943 graduate of the Midway high school. Mr. NAVOSKI served 44 months with the 77th infantry division, Medical corps,
20 month of which were spent in the South Pacific area. They will reside for the present with the bride's parents.

A very pretty home wedding was that of Miss Esther Elma WILSON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. WILSON, and the Rev. Samuel Galbraith NEAL, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. J. NEAL, which took place on Wednesday, May 18th, 1921, at 2:30 p. m. in the home of the bride. The ceremony was performed by the bride's pastor the Rev. Raymond S. COPELAND, assisted by the Rev. Greer M. Kerr, D. D., the groom's pastor. The bride wore white organdie and carried white roses. Miss Ida WILSON of Grove City, Pa., as her sister's bridesmaid, wore peach color crepe de chine and carried pink roses. James NEAL acted as his brother's best man.
Miss Ida BELL sang, "Oh Promise Me," just before the ceremony. The wedding music was played by Miss Alberta McBRIDE of Corliss. About forty guests were present. A wedding dinner was served after which the bride and groom left for a short trip. After July 1st the Rev. Mr. and Mrs. NEAL will be at home at
Elrama.

NEAL - WILSON
Bavington, May 25.-- One of the most pleasing events in this vicinity for some time was the wedding of Miss Elma WILSON and Samuel NEAL,
on Wednesday, May 18, at 2:30 p.m., at the home of the bride. The ceremony was performed by Rev. R. S. COPELAND, pastor of the
Robinson U. P. church, assisted by Rev. G. M. KERR, of Candor. The ring service was used. The wedding march as played by Miss Alberta
McBRIDE of Crafton. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Ida WILSON, of Grove City. James NEAL was his brother's best man. The
bride was attired in a beautiful white organdie and carried bride's roses. The bridesmaid was dressed in peach crepe de chine with an over
drapery of white lace, and carried pink roses. The house was beautifully decorated with white and pink flowers. Following the ceremony
luncheon was served. Mrs. NEAL is a graduate of Slippery Rock State Normal, and for the last two years a successful teacher in Allegheny county
schools, and is prominent in church and social circles in this community. Mr. NEAL is a student in the Western Theological Seminary, and is
now a supply in the Presbyterian church of Elrama. Mr. and Mrs. NEAL took a short wedding trip, returning on Saturday evening. About 45
guests were present. The presents were numerous. Mr. and Mrs. NEAL will be at home to their friends after July 1 at
Elrama.

NEAL - DUNCAN
Miss Margaret Luella DUNCAN, daughter of Mrs. O. C. DUNCAN of Canonsburg, and William Lyle NEAL, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. J. NEAL of
Midway, were united in marriage Tuesday afternoon, July 20, 1937, at 1:30 o'clock in the home of the bride's mother.
The ceremony was performed in the presence of the immediate families by the Rev. S. G. NEAL of Clinton, brother of the bridegroom, assisted by the
Rev. J. Paul GRAHAM, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church of Washington.
The bride wore a gown of white lace, street length, and carried a bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley. Elizabeth Stewart
DUNCAN, her sister's only attendant, wore a gown of blue crep [sic] and carried a bouquet of pink roses. The Rev. Marshall D. BERRYHILL of Pittsburgh served as best man.
Mr. and Mrs. NEAL are now on a Great Lakes cruise. On their return they will be at home at 38 West Prospect avenue, Washington.
Mrs. NEAL, a graduate of Washington seminary, for several years has been associated with Citizens Water Co. Mr. NEAL attended Pennsylvania State sollege [sic] and is
now employed by the Republic Steel Co.
