Be it Remembered

THAT I, Abraham S. Groff of the Borough of Perkasie, county of Bucks and state of Pennsylvania, being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, and considering the uncertainty of life, do therefore make, publish and declare this to be my last WILL and TESTAMENT, in manner and form following that is to say:

ITEM: I direct that all my just debits and funeral expenses to be fully paid and satisfied, by my Executors hereinafter named, as soon as conveniently may be after my decease.

ITEM: I hereby bequest the sum of one hundred dollars as a trust fund to the Sellersville Church & Cemetery Corporation, of Sellersville Bucks County, Pennsylvania; only the interest thereof to be used to keep the following lots in said cemetery in seed and proper condition, to vit: south and east lots of block #108; north and west lots of block #67; and north and west lots of block #62.

I hereby give full power and authority to my Executors hereinafter named, to make either public or private sale of all real or personal estate of which I may die seized, if it be to the best interest so to do. I also vest in them full power and authority to make, execute and deliver good and sufficient deed or deeds in fee simple to the purchaser or purchasers thereof without liability on the part of the purchaser or purchasers thereof to see to the proper application of the purchase money.

I direct that all my jewelry is to be sold among my children only, the highest bidder is to be the purchaser of the various articles, and the money derived therefore is to be placed to the general fund. In case I should die before my adopted daughter Minerva Shoup Groff reaches the age of sixteen years, then and in that case, I direct my Executor hereafter named, to set aside, two thousand dollars, as a trust fund; the interest there from is to be used for the support of my adopted daughter, Minerva Shoup Groff, until she reaches the age of sixteen years. After the aforesaid trust fund, of two thousand dollars is to be distributed among my heirs, hereafter named and in the same manner as hereafter directed.

I direct that Andrew C. Groff to the guardian of Minerva Shoup Groff, And as to all the rest residue and remainder of my Estate, real, Personal or mixed, of whatever nature of kind or wheresoever situate at the time of my decease. I do hereby give equal parts; and each one of my children, or in case either one of them should die before be, then it their heirs, a like amount. One part is to be equally divided between the two children of my deceased daughter, Marietta Shoup, namely Valeria Shoup and Minerva Shoup Groff, the latter who I have now adopted as my child: but she not to get any more of my estate than one half of her mothers’ share. The four parts are to be equally divided between Andrew C. Groff, H. Melvin Groff, William C. Groff and Hattie R. Barndt.

And lastly I do make, constitute and appoint Andrew C. Groff and H. Melvin Groff to be the Executors of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills and Testaments by me at any time heretofore made and declaring this to be my last Will and Testament.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, the 20th day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seven (1907). Signed, sealed, published and declared by the trustor within named, as and for his last Will and Testament, in the presence of us, who at his request, is his presence, and in the presence of each other, have hereunto subscribed over names as witnesses.

Codicil to the foregoing WILL

I Abraham S. Groff having hereafter made my wil, dated the Twentieth Day of Novembers in the year Nineteen Hundred and seven, which said will I now desire to alter as hereinafter expressed, now I therefore declare this to be a Codicil to my will as follow, to wit:

I hereby direct that the sum of Two Hundred thirty-one and 87/100 Dollars be deducted from the share of my son William C. Groff, now deceased, which sum I have spent on account of providing a home for his family.

In all either respects I fully confirm my aftersaid will.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto authorized my anme and affirmed my seal this 10th day of June in the year Nineten Hundred and Eleven.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by Abraham S. Groff, the above named testator as and for a codicil to his last will and testament, in the presence of us who at his request, in his presence, and in the presence of each other, have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
