Driving directions from the Hickory Street bridge in Warren: go west on Pennsylvania Ave W/US-6 (business route) along the Allegheny River. US Hwy 62 will join with US 6 before you leave Warren and the highways will become a free-access 4-lane. Drive through Starbrick and continue west. Merge south, following US-62 toward Tidioute/Tionesta (at this point US 6 will continue west to Youngsville). In approximately 16 miles through beautiful countryside along the Allegheny River, turn right onto Route 127 and cross the bridge into Tidioute.
At the T-intersection, turn left onto Main Street and proceed through town and up steep Babylon Hill, still following Rt. 127. At the Y-intersection at the top of the hill, bear right onto the Tidioute-Enterprise road. After a couple of winding turns, Swede Road will be very visible on the hilltop as a dirt road bearing dead ahead as Rt. 127 makes a sharp turn to the left. Follow Swede Road as it disappears into the forest.
As the road turns west, a surprisingly long, paved, private airstrip will be off to the right, below the road grade and partially hidden by trees. The airstrip runs east-west and sits parallel to the church and cemetery grounds.
Look for the cemetery, which will come into view first, on the left side of the road (at the very western end of the airstrip but on the opposite side of the road). The small white Triumph Swedish Union church sits behind a row of mature maple trees at the far end of the fenced rectangular grounds. A private drive just past the fence, Donaldson Lane, is a good place to turn around. Park next to the fence and use one of the three gates to enter.
Take a stroll through the cemetery...

There are no monuments or really large gravestones; most are newer and of modest size. | ||
The grounds, well maintained, are completely fenced with three gates allowing easy access. It is possible to park beside the fence along the dirt road, but not in the cemetery. |
