Pine Grove Cemetery is a large, active cemetery located just to the west of the village of Russell. It is very well maintained with some large pines and mature deciduous trees. The cemetery is bisected by two paved roads (Liberty and East Streets) and is on mostly level ground; only the north section is on a slight slope. It is visible from US 62. The cemetery sign sits at the Y-intersection of East and Liberty Streets.

Driving directions from the Hickory Street bridge in Warren (about 7 miles; 12 minutes): Drive east on Pennsylvania Ave W/US-6 (business route) to Market Street. Turn left on Market Street and drive north through Warren, North Warren, and past Warren State Hospital. Market Street turns into US 62. In approximately 7 miles, look for the intersection of US 62 and PA 957, marked by a blinker light. The cemetery is clearly visible on the north east side of this intersection. Turn right off US 62 onto Liberty Street.

There are a number of different entrances to the grounds:

• Upon turning onto Liberty Street, there is a gravel drive on the immediate left.
• If you continue on Liberty Street, there is a Y-intersection in front of the cemetery sign. Bear left onto East Street and turn left onto another gravel drive into the cemetery.
• An additional entrance on both sides of East Street can be found a bit further down the road.
• Drving down Liberty Street (rather than East Street), the first two gravel roads on the left will lead into different parts of the cemetery.

This memorial honors Pine Grove Twp. veterans who, although separated by generations, shared a common, undeniable goal... to valiantly protect our country's freedoms. The memories of these American veterans will continue to live on whenever and wherever democracy exists. The American veteran -- forever a symbol of heroism, sacrifice, loyalty, and freedom!
