Situated across the Allegheny River south of the city of Warren at 37 Mohawk Avenue, Oakland is the largest cemetery in the county.

Driving directions from the Hickory Street bridge in Warren (less than 1 mile; 5 minutes): drive south across the Hickory Street bridge and at the traffic light at the end of the bridge, turn left onto Crescent Park road which will parallel the Allegheny River. There is a very confusing intersection at the next traffic light and US highway 6. Continue straight through the intersection and you'll be on Mohawk Avenue.
The sign and paved entrance for the cemetery will be almost immediately on your left. Should you miss the driveway, the entrance to Saint Joseph Cemetery is just beyond. The two cemeteries sit adjacent to each other, but it is difficult to find roads that intersect. You can either turn around in the entrance to Saint Joseph or, better yet, take a quick drive through the cemetery grounds to get a nice overview of the city of Warren and both cemeteries.

The grounds are well maintained with both paved and gravel roads throughout. Many large mausoleums and tombstones dot the cemetery. |
