Looking directly into the entrance from the north |
Jackson Run Cemetery is located on route 69 about 1.5 miles past Miller Hill Road (this road leading to Lander will be on the right). Continue past Scranton Hollow Road (on the right) / Creamery Road (on the left). Look for the small cemetery on the left side of the road. There is no sign, but a thin black metal fence encloses the grounds. If you see the Ribs & Bones restaurant on the right or the Jackson Valley Golf course on the left, you have driven right past the cemetery.
Parking is treacherous along this high-speed road - there is not enough room on either shoulder of the road in front of the cemetery. It is advisable to turn around and head back toward Warren and park just past the cemetery on the more generous shoulder near the driveway to a residence. There is a small grass lane leading into the grounds, but you will need to proceed slowly to spot it and make the turn.
The level grounds of this small rectangular cemetery are well-tended with a mix of old to new stones, none very large. A few large trees and mature shrubs dot the landscape. A residence is visible on the west side of the cemetery, otherwise the forest surrounds the fenced plot.
Driving directions from the Hickory Street bridge in Warren (about 8.5 miles; 15 minutes): Drive east on Pennsylvania Ave W/US-6 (business route) to Market Street. Turn left on Market Street (which turns into US 62) and drive north through Warren and into North Warren. Turn left onto Rt. 69, Jackson Run Road and drive east about six miles. Look for the unmarked cemetery on the left.
