JULIANA HUTZELL ALBRIGHT: - Meyersdale Republican - July 14, 1927 - Death of Juliana Albright - The subject of this sketch who was one of Salisbury's oldest & most respected women, died at an early hour Mon. morning, the 11th inst., at the home of her son-in-law & daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Chauncey Meese, with whom she had been making her home since April 1922. In Oct. of that same year Mrs. Albright became afflicted with gangrene from which malady the doctors could not free her, & in time other ailments developed causing her to suffer intensely most of the time during her long affliction, until death came to her relief. All that loving hands could do for the aged sufferer was done by Mr. & Mrs. Meese & their children, but the best that could be done gave only temporary relief. However, Mrs. Albright bore her affliction bravely to the end, & died with an abiding faith in God & in the hope of a glorious immortality. Mrs. Albright was a daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. John Hutzel & was the wife of the late Jonathan Albright, the latter dying 31 yrs. ago. She was the mother of eleven children, seven of whom preceded her to the grave. Her four surviving children are Minerva Ellen, wife of Chauncey Meese, of this place; Ida, widow of the late Wilson Gomer, of Keystone Junction; Elda, wife of Joseph Beal, of Meyersdale; & Frank of Masontown, Pa. She is also survived by a large number of grandchildren, as well as by one brother, John Hutzel, & one sister, Mrs. Isaac Lint. She was aged 83 yrs., 5 mos. & 6 days. She was a faithful member of the Lutheran church. Her remains will be taken to the undertaking rooms of W.C. Price of Meyersdale where they were prepared for burial. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. S. D. Sigler, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church of Salisbury, at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Beal, in Meyersdale, at 2 o'clock Wed. afternoon, the 13th inst. Interment was made in the Meyersdale cemetery. Mrs. Chauncey Meese, one of Mrs. Albright's daughters, was unable to attend her mother's funeral, owing to being taken seriously ill very suddenly last Sat. night. Her condition is still quite serious, & she is in the hands of a trained nurse at her home.

JULIAN HUTZEL: Meyersdale Republican - Dec. 30, 1926 - Julia A. Hutzel, daughter of the late Michael & Hannah Hutzel, died at her home near Sand Patch, Dec. 23, at 4 a.m. She was born in Larimer Twp., Nov. 6, 1870 & was aged 66 yrs., 1 mo. & 17 days. She is survived by three brothers, John C., Henry M. & Daniel W. Hutzel & three sisters, Mrs. Nancy Ellen Fuller, Eliza & Matilda Jane Hutzel. She was a member of the Lutheran Church. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sun., by her pastor Rev. J.L. Frantz. Interment in Union Cemetery in charge of R. Reich & Son. [Note: Mistakes in obit - Henry M. should be Henry W. & Nancy Ellen should be Mary Ellen.]

Mrs. Perry Hutzel: Mrs. Perry Hutzel - Mrs. Eliza Ellen, wife of Perry Hutzell of Larimer died Aug. 4, 1907 of dropsy, aged 65 yrs., 3 mos. & 6 days. Her maiden name was Deal & she married Mr. Hutzel Oct. 8, 1862 -- nearly 45 yrs. ago. But one child was born to this union -- Susan - who married Filmore Smith. There were 12 grandchildren. Mrs. Hutzel leaves her husband & a number of brothers among whom is Simon Deal. She was a faithful member of the Ev. Lutheran Church, an affectionate wife, loving mother & true-steadfast friend. Funeral services were held by Eld. E.K. Hochstetler, Tues., Aug. 6, & interment in the Greenville cemetery. Another mother of Israel called to her eternal reward. There is much sympathy for the bereaved family & relatives. Meyersdale Commercial -- Aug. 29, 1907.

Samuel Hutzell: Meyersdale Commercial - Apr. 7, 1897 -- HUTZELL -- At Keystone Junction, Mar. 30, 1897, Mr. Samuel Hutzell, aged 58 yrs., 4 mos. & 2 days. Interment at Mt. Carmel, April 1, Rev. B.B. Collins officiating. Comrade Hutzell attended the Post meeting on 22nd inst. & was again in town the following day. He had an affection of the heart & was ill since Wed. of last week, dying at 3:30 Tues. morning. His wife died about a year ago. All his sons & daughters are married, the last daughter being married about a week ago. He was a most excellent man, a brave, loyal soldier & one of the most faithful & trusted of the Savage Fire Brick Company employees. His remains were laid to rest with GAR ceremonies. MC Lowery Post No. 214 having charge of the services.

Meyersdale Commercial - April 15, 1897 -- Last Respects to a Comrade -- The funeral of Comrade Sam. Hutzel, late Co. D, 54th Regt., PA Vol., who died at Keystone Junction, was attended by a large number of people, there being 22 conveyances in all; two of these were sent by M.C. Lowery Post 214 GAR of which Comrade Hutzel was a member & carried the pall bearers & other comrades. After services at the house by Rev. B.B. Collins, pastor of the deceased, funeral started on the journey to the cemetery at White Oak church, a distance of about 7 miles; on reaching there quite a large number of people awaited our coming. The services at the grave were conducted by the Post according the ritual of the order by the Commander. After a short service in the church, Comrade Sam Hoffmeyer, who is a member of Post No. 619 of Addison & who had a few days before moved into the vicinity, invited the comrades of Post 214 & pall bearers to his home & showed his hospitality by giving them their dinners & fed their horses for which all were very thankful & hope he may prosper in his new home. MARY HUTZEL WEIMER: Meyersdale Commercial - June 24, 1897 -- WEIMER -- At 4 a.m. Tuesday after a protracted illness, at her residence on the South Side, Mrs. Solomon Weimer, aged about 63 yrs. Mrs. Weimer was a daughter of Solomon Hutzell of Greenville, who was killed during the war on the National road by a rebel soldier. She married Solomon Weimer, seven children born to them of whom one, Mrs. Harriet Geiger, preceded her to the grave as did her husband who died several years ago. Of the children who survive to mourn the loss of ther mother are Peter H., Harvey M. , S. Wilson & Mrs. Jacob Saylor of town, Mrs. C. H. Shockey of Stoyestown & Mrs. Henry Sipple of the twp. Mrs. Weimer was a loving, affectionate wife & mother & a constant friend. She was an earnest, devoted member of the Reformed Church, dying happy in her faith. Funeral today at 1 p.m. from her late residence & interment in Amity Reformed cemetery, Rev. Dr. Truxal, her pastor in charge.

LOHR- Jeremiah (Jerry): Tribune Democrat, Oct. 11, 1960 -- 77, Ebensburg, formerly of Walnut Grove; died October 10, 1960. Born 23 June 1883, in Shade Township, Somerset County, Son of Franklin and Margaret (Reese) Lohr. Preceded in death by first wife Ora Pearl (Manisfield), and son Harry; Survived by second wife Mary (Hopkins) Lohr, and these children: Jerry Jr. Mary (Weaverling), Harvey, Jane and Linda. Also one grandson. Brother of Harvey, Ebensburg; William, Reels Corner; Lottie (Benz), Stoystown; Myrtle (Mangus), Plaza, N. Y; and Miss Elizabeth, 244 Market St. Last employed by the City Highways Department of Johnstown. Friend received after 7 P.M. Tuesday at Geisel Funeral Home where funeral serviced will be held at 3 P.M. Wednesday by the Reverend George Biggs. Interment, Richland Cemetery. From his daughter, Jane M. (Lohr) Miller
