In
1869-70 a Catholic Church was built in Neshannock, and the first service
held therein by Father Hartmann, of St.
Rose Parish, in 1870. The mission was then placed under the charge
of the pastor at Sharpsville, and so remains up to the present. The
building was a frame, but not a very substantial structure. It was blown
down early in 1887, and has not been rebuilt, and it is not very
probable that it ever will be. The mission embraces only a few families,
and services are held in private houses.
