| I
have three old studio photographs belonging to the ECKELS Family of
Pennsylvania. The photographs included in this group are
shown here.:
Based on limited research I located the following info regarding this family:
William
“Will” or “Willie” Plimpton ECKELS was b. 22 May 1853 in Greenville, PA
to parents Rev. John ECKELS (1821-1888) and Esther Caroline LEECH (1828
or 1829-1907). Will is one of 8 children born to this couple
including Mary; Emma Jane; William Plimpton; Flora Lilinet or Lillmet;
Sarah “Sadie” Amelia; Clark Dela; Charles Elliott or Edmund; Arthur
Briggs; and Ellen ECKELS, all born between 1849 and 1867.
Will
married Mary JONES (1859-1945) on 30 Dec 1885 in Kane, PA and they had
four children including Martha E.; Claude or Claud Alan or Allen;
Violet E.; and Hugh Nelson ECKELS, all born between 1887 and
1907. Will died 9 or 12 Sept 1913 in Kane, PA and is buried in
the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Kane, PA.
Evaline “Eva” M. MORRIS
was b. 24 Aug 1868 in Washington, DC to parents Edward T. or L. MORRIS
and Emmily RESMAN. It appears that she was their only
child. Eva married Charles Edmund ECKELS (1863-1943) in 1888 and
they had three children including Mildred; Morris Leech; and Mildred
ECKELS, all born between 1888 and 1894. Eva died 23 Jan 1922 in
Niles, OH and she is buried in Cambridge Springs, PA.
