Martin Sonk, 529
Brookfield Ave., Masury, formerly of Orangeville, Ohio, died at 3:40
a.m. today (12-2-87) in O'Brien Memorial Nursing Home, Masury, where he
had been a patient [for]18 months. He was 82.
Mr. Sonk was born in Hartford, Ohio, Aug. 2, 1905, to Frank and Sarah Toot Sonk.
He was a member of Orangeville United Methodist Church.
He retired in 1970 from Shenango Valley Water Co. with 30 years’ service.
Mr. Sonk served in the Army during World War II
Surviving
are his wife, the former Hilda Fredrickson, whom he married June 10,
1944; a daughter, Mrs. Melinda Kroko, Masury; five sisters, Mrs.
Charlene Richter and Mrs. Ethel Keller, both Sharon, Mrs. Florence
McClelland, Mercer, Mrs. Evelyn Hudson, Cortland, Ohio, and Mrs. Freda
Cook in California; two brothers, Harlan Sonk, Gales Ferry, Conn., and
August Sonk, Boardman, Ohio; and two grandchildren. Four brothers and a
sister preceded him in death.
