COLUMBIANA, Ohio
— Joseph M. Shidel, 12300 Columbiana-Canfield Road, formerly of Grove
City and West Mifflin. Pa., died Wednesday evening (11-5-87) of
injuries suffered; in a car-truck crash Tuesday in to Columbiana. He
was 65.
Mr. Shidel was born in McKeesport, Pa., June 22, 1922, to Joseph W. and Marie Lyons Shidel.
In
1976 he retired as a driver-salesman for the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. He
was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Columbiana; Knights of
Columbus, Veterans Foreign Wars and American Legion posts.
He
had been an auxiliary policeman for West Mifflin borough. A World War
II veteran, he served with the Army Air Force. He moved to
Columbiana from Grove City in 1983.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Anne Humenik, whom he married June 6, 1944; a daughter, Miss
Linda Shidel, Boulder, Colo.; two sons, Terry, Columbiana, and Kerry
with the Air Force stationed at Elgin Air Force Base in Florida; a
brother, Edward, McKeesport; and two grandchildren.
