John T Pew Coming
as a shock to his many friends in Mercer County is the death of John T
Pew yesterday at 11:30 a.m. at the home of his sister, Mrs. Frank
Booth, 20 Second Street. He has been a life long resident of
Mercer County and since 1872 a resident of Sharon. He was a son
of John T Pew and Elizabeth Thompson Pew, early settlers of Pymatuning
Township. In 1859, Mr. Pew was married to Mary Snyder, daughter of
Andrew & Mary Snyder. In 1861 he enlisted in the Fifty
Seventh Pennsylvania Volunteers and did good service for his
country. In 1872 he located in Sharon and went into the livery
business which he followed up to the Spring of 1888 and since that time
has lived retired. Politically he was a Republican.

to Mourn his loss are four sisters Mrs. Frank Booth at whose house he
died. Miss Rebecca Pew, Mrs. Lydia McMillan Pew of Mercer and
Mrs. Martha Gordon of Greefield.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon and burial will take place in Oakland Cemetery.
