Jacob Loutzenhiser, a
well known citizen of this place, died at his late residence on
Shenango street at 5' 1/2 o'clock Tuesday morning. He has been a great
sufferer for about five years. Prior to that he had been an active
business man. Five years ago the present month he was attacked with
pneumonia, and about the time he recovered from that he suffered a
stroke of paralysis. Since that time he has been wholly unable to do
any physical or mental labor, and life to him became such a burden that
he longed for the time when he would be called hence. When the hour
came he calmly welcomed death as a deliverer, and, closing his eyes,
peacefully passed away.
Deceased was the second son of the late
David and Euty Loutzenhiser, who belonged to a well known family of
early settlers in this locality. He was 60 years old on the day of his
death. In our early boyhood days were schoolmates together, and we have
known him well ever since. It can be safely said that he was an honest,
upright citizen. He had been for many years a member of good standing
in the Presbyterian church.
He leaves a wife and five sons.
Benjamin Loutzenhiser and Mrs. L. L. Keck are all that are left of the
once large family of which they are members.
The funeral will take place today at 2 p.m.
