Mrs. Elizabeth Booth, 84, wife of Frank Booth, 204 First street died at
her home at 11 yesterday morning from the infirmities of age.
Mrs.
Booth was a lifelong resident of Mercer County, having been born at Big
Bend in 1837. She was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Pew,
who were among the early settlers at Big Bend.
Mrs. Booth was a
woman of fine Christian character and made friends wherever she
went. She was a devout member of the Oakland Avenue M. E. Church.
Surviving are her husband and one sister, Miss Lida Pew of Mercer.
Funeral
services will be held from the home at 2:30 Thursday afternoon, with
Rev. H. E. Phipps officiating. Burial will be made in Oakwood
Cemetery.
