SHARON YOUTH KILLED IN KOREAN FIGHTING
Edward B. Bancroft, 24, Sharon, was killed in action in Korea on Oct. 4, the Defense Department announces.
He was the son of Mrs. Winifred Bancroft, 118 North Irvine Avenue, Sharon, and John Bancroft, Kinsman.
Cpl.
Bancroft was born in Mercer on Nov. 29, 1927, and was graduated from
Sharon High School in 1946. He was employed at Westinghouse Electric
Corporation plant when he was called to service in 1950 and had been in
Korea since last May.
Besides his parents, he leaves three
sisters, Mrs. Florence Kristyak, Sandy Lake; Mrs. Robert Hunter,
Sharon; Mary Bancroft, at home and three brothers, William Ban croft,
Sharon; Thomas Bancroft of Sharon R.D. 2 and Kenneth Bancroft of
Fredonia R.D. 2.
