D A M'Knight Dies At Advanced Age David
Allen McKnight, one of the oldest and most highly respected residents
of Pymatuming Township and a lifelong resident of this locality, died
at 5 o'clock Saturday evening at his home on the West Side. He
was 82 years and nine months old.
Mr. McKnight came from one of
the pioneer families of this section. He was a veteran of the
Civil War, having served with distinction for three years and ten
months with the 57th Regiment, P.V. I. He was long a member of
Sharpsville Lodge of Odd Fellows, Sharon Post No 254 GAR, and was one
of the oldest members of the Sharpsville M E Church taking an active
interest in Church affairs as long as his health permitted.
He
is survived by his widow and the following children: James, Fred,
and Douglass McKnight. Mrs. Frank Porter, Mrs. Robert Stewart, Mrs.
Charles Ferguson , all of Sharpsville; Mrs. George Genaiger of
Linesville; Mrs. Frank Bannister of New York; Mrs. William Hoffman of
Clarksville and Charles of Greenville.
The funeral will be held from the family residence on Tuesday. Interment will be made in the West Side Cemetery.
