DANIEL
UPSON BUDD, retired farmer, was born March 2, 1813, and is the
youngest son of William and Drucilla Budd. He has spent his whole life
in Sharon, and resides on a part of the land entered by his father. He
has been twice married, first to Lucy Ann Hull, of Trumbull County,
Ohio, December 29, 1836. Two daughters were born of this marriage:
Sarah E. (wife of William Matthews, of Kansas City, Mo.), and Emma V.,
wife of A. S. Service, of Sharon. Mrs. Budd died January 19, 1883, and
he was again married, October 8, 1886, to Mrs. Sophronia Waldorf,
daughter of William and Lucretia Chew, of Brookfield, Ohio. Mr. Budd
has followed farming all his life, and is the oldest continuous
resident of Sharon, which borough he has seen grow from a small hamlet
to its present flourishing dimensions. Since attaining his majority he
has never missed casting his vote for the national nominee of the
Democratic party.
