James Tunison
James Tunison was the son of Richard Tunison originally from New Jersey who arrived in West Salem Twp., in 1798 or 1799 with his three children, James Tunison included. James was most likely born in Westmoreland County, PA. James was a veteran of the War of 1812 having served in the 135th under John Gillilands Company, under Col. Andrew Christy. James married Hannah Miller in Mercer County on Jan 24, 1827 by the Justice of the Peace, John Keck. James & Hannah were the parents of 12 children. James was a life long Lutheran and a Democrat.
