Hope Mills is a
station on the W. N. Y. & P. R.R., near the boundary line
between Findley and Springfield. The settlement was made by the Junkin family. The village has
grown up in consequence of the location of old-time mills at that
point. They have finally disappeared by fire. In the creek near the
mill three persons have been drowned. One of them was a lady
school-teacher.
