GEORGE WELCH OLMSTED

George Welch Olmsted

Mr. Olmsted is secretary of the J. G. Curtis Leather Company and to this office for many years he gave the full limit of his abilities, paying an important part in the building of the industry. In recent years, however, he has devoted most of his time to the Long Island Lighting Company of New York City, of which he is Vice President, and to other corporate interests in that vicinity.

While his business associations are now largely in the East, Mr. Olmsted is a loyal Ludlow citizen maintaining his residence here and taking an active part in the social and religious development of the community. A member of the National Committee Boy Scouts of America, a trustee of Allegheny College, a member of the official board of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Kane, Pa., he serves and supports institutions idealistic to his nature.

Mr. Olmsted has a finely developed sense and love of the beautiful. Largely through his generosity and effort was created our magnificent Community Park and largely by his example came the inspiration for civic improvement in our village.
