  • Union Church - 1869 (Baptists & Methodists) 1889 (Baptist)

  • United Brethren Church - began August 1878. Destroyed by fire 1880, never rebuilt.
  • Catholic Church - dedicated October 18, 1885.

KANE BOROUGH

  • Kane Methodist Episcopal Church - organized 1864.

  • Church of the Mission Friends - organized 1887.

NORWICH TOWNSHIP

  • Norwich Church - approximately 1820/1821.

PORT ALLEGANY BOROUGH

  • Methodist Episcopal Church - first services at Lillabridge home 1836, 1853 members belonged to Eldred mission of Olean, NY district, 1871 Port Allegany circuit established.
  • First Methodist Episcopal Church of Port Allegany - same as organized in 1836 - incorporated January, 1880.
  • Union Church - incorporated December 26, 1867.
  • Universalists - organization of society December 1874 - no church building erected.
  • St. Gabriel's Catholic Church - First regular services 1875.
  • First Regular Baptist Church of Port Allegany - incorporated August, 1881.
  • Congregational Society - organized May 7, 1877.
  • Free-Will Baptist Society of Port Allegany - incorporated June, 1883.
  • Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Society of Port Allegany - incorporated July 13, 1886.
  • St. Joseph's Protestant Episcopal Church - opened July 22, 1888.
  • Presbyterian Society - organized at Hubbard home, December 10, 1889.

SERGEANT TOWNSHIP

  • Catholic Church at Instanter - 1809 (according to legends).
  • Clermont Union Church Society - officers elected 1889.

SMETHPORT BOROUGH

  • Methodist Episcopal Church of Smethport - began about 1832.
  • Baptist Church of Smethport - origins in society formed in Norwich Twp. 1820.
  • Catholic Church of Smethport - a continuation of old mission of Instanter, est. 1809, and of St. Marys, founded 1842.
  • St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church - founded February 19, 1868.
  • St. Luke's Protestant Episcopal Church of Smethport - first services held 1842.
  • Congregational Church of Smethport - chartered January 1851.
